Re-Admission Protocol*
Teacher Credential Programs
The following applies to students who at one time were admitted to the Charter College of Education teaching
credential program (multiple subject, single subject, and education specialist) and subsequently lost “continuing
student status.” CSULA continuing student status requires enrollment in 2 of 4 consecutive quarters (not
counting summer quarters).
If you have lost “continuing student status” you must apply for re-admission to the university, as well as the Charter
College of Education (CCOE) credential program. The information below will help guide you through the readmission process:

CSULA application fee - $55.00 with CSULA application. The $55 application fee must be paid by
returning students who were not enrolled in one of the three quarters immediately preceding the one they
wish to return. Please refer to Schedule of Classes for further explanation.

Technology Proficiency Statement

CCOE Admission Control Card – Please submit to the Cashiers Office, Administration Room 128, and
pay $65.00 admission/credential processing fee.

Philosophy of Education Statement – Remember to address the prompts as instructed on the form. If
you submitted a philosophy of education statement with a previous admission application less than two
years ago, then a revised philosophy of education statement is not necessary.

Photocopy of negative TB Test - Results must be issued within one calendar year. Currently enrolled
CSULA students may take the T.B. test (skin or x-ray) at the CSULA Health Center.

Two original letters of recommendation -- If you submitted letters of recommendation with a previous
admission application less than two years ago, then revised letters of recommendation are not necessary.

Official transcripts from all schools attended subsequent to your last attendance at CSULA. A
minimum GPA of 2.75 on the last 90 quarters units is required for admission.

Re-Admission Petition Form. Form must be thoroughly completed and submitted along with your CCOE
Application for Admission.
After submitting your complete packet, please allow 4-6 weeks to review your file. You will be required to go meet
with the re-admissions committee for a formal interview. Once we have determined that you are eligible for
conditional admission, you will be required to meet with an advisor for a program plan and an interview. You will be
notified by mail regarding the status of your application.
