Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 3:33 p.m.

To approve the minutes of September 10, 2012 as corrected. MSC Kelber,
Lienhart. All in favor.

To approve the minutes of September 17, 2012. MSC Lienhart, Andre. All in
favor.
Updates
Barb told TERB members that, as suggested at the last meeting, she sought
guidance from John Tortarolo, Vice President of Human Resources, regarding
the extent to which specific information can appear in the minutes. John
offered to come to a TERB meeting and answer any questions regarding this.
Barb then provided an update on the matter of the part-time faculty member
who requested that TERB invalidate an evaluation. As reported at the last
meeting, the request was denied. The deadline to appeal the denial has now
passed, she said. She also noted that the investigation of the matter concluded
that TERB was thorough with regard to protocols and process.
Barb updated TERB members on the status of the remediation plan discussed at
the last meeting. She read the correspondence sent to the committee, which
thanked them for their thoughtful work on the plan and explained TERB’s
reasoning for the modifications they suggested. Barb said that the committee
members responded positively to the changes and were ready to sign the plan
as amended.
Barb introduced the remediation plan and supporting documents for the
probationary faculty member meeting with TERB in Executive Session.
Barb reminded TERB members that the Evaluation Appeal Committee (EAC)
is being formed, and she nominated Sande Andre to serve as the TERB
representative. A vote will be taken at the October 1 meeting.
