Course Objectives
This course aims to achieve the following objectives
1 To understand principle of operation of Transformers, its various types, analysis of transformers using equivalent circuit
2 To familiarize with the principle of operation, construction and performance characteristics of synchronous motors
3 To understand various modes of operation of synchronous motors, starting methods and its various application in industries
4 To understand Principle of operation, construction and characteristics of Induction Motors, classification of Induction Motors, its
characteristics, Performance analysis using equivalent circuit, speed control and various applications
5 To understand basic principle of operation and construction of DC Machines : dc motor and dc generator, its various types and electrical
equivalent circuit and characteristics
