Answer the following with clear and net sketches
1- Compute the main elements for the simple circular curve with radios 500m connect
two lines the first with whole circular bearing 60̊ 00 00 and with total deflection
angle 20̊ 14̍ 21̋ if the computed station at the point (PI) point of intersection of the
two lines is (171+

2- Its required to design circular curves in the ends of triangular island ABC to facilitate
the traffic motion if the length of, SIDE AB=150 m, BC= 200 m, AC=250 m, RA=
20 m , RB = 25 m and RC = 15 m compute the Circumference of the island (curves
and tangents)
3 - two straight lines represent an axis of two roads the second deflects from the first by an
angle 41̊ 26̍ 20̋ . they are connected by S.C.C. its degree =2 with arc 30 m if the
chainage of the P.C = 1360.4 find the radios (R) , the Tangent (T) ARC (L) , the
External Distance (E). Also arrange table for the setting of the curve including the
chord length, partial and total deflection angles also what is the chainage of the main
curve points.
4- the following data for S.C.C , total deflection angle = 80 42 30 , (T) = 120 m P.C =
chainage = (1227.6 m) compute the following : The radios (R) - the Degree of
curvature (D) - the chord length ( C ) – the arc length ( L) – the external distance
( E) – and the mid chord distance ( M ) Also arrange table for setting of the curve include the chord length, partial and total
deflection angles.
5- If the total deflection angle of S.C.C is 60 20 43 , (E) = 40 m.

Answer the following with clear and net sketches
1- Two perpendicular lines are connected with circular compound curve (CCC) with
R1= 250m & R2= 300m if the length of the first tangent T1=200m what is the length
of the second tangent T2, also the length of the total arc , if the chinage of the point of
intersection PI = (143+22 ) what is the chinage of the rest of the (C.C.C) points.
2- A compound circular curve consists of two simple circular curves with the following
data , station of PC = 119 +8.9 with coordinates (100,100) , the coordinates of the
point O2 = (211.11, -67.92m ) the whole circular bearing (WCB) of the first line is
42̊ 00̍ 00̋ the reduced bearing of (PI2- PT) is S 60 28 22 E== WCB =119̊ 31̍ 38̋ the
horizontal angle between (PC & O1) measured at O2 = 18̊ 44̍ 43̋ .
Compute all elements of the
(CCC)
the main stations of
the curve and
the
coordinates of the PCC, and PI1.
3- State in brief how to set out a SCC by the method of deflection angles and lengths.
You have a SCC with R = 255m and deflection angle = 56̊ 00̍ 00̋ prepare the
table of setting out the curve if the chinage of PC= 133+12.

5- Its required to design a right compound circular curve connecting between two
intersecting roads with a right angle between the center lines of the two roads the first
road passing through the point PC (200, 400 ) and the coordinates of point O2 = (650,
115) the angle between the two centers O2O1 measured clockwise at PC =( 11 30 15 )
what the chinage of the point PT if the distance O1O2 = 81.35 m and the chinage of
the point PI = ( 215 +12 ).

Answer the following with clear and net sketches
1- A compound circular curve consists of two simple circular curves with the
following data the station PC is 114 +5.9 the station PI is 117 +20 the deflection
angle of the first curve is 35 18 18 the deflection angle of the second curve is 42
17 28 the max. offset of the first curve is 19.34 m . it is required to define the
principle station of the curve ( PI1 , PI2 , PT , and PCC ) . set out the first curve
with the method of deflection angle.
2- a- what is the difference between precision and accuracy.
b- If the coordinates of the intersection points of the reversed circular curve RCC
PI1 = (642.92, 629.82) , PI2 =(730.56, 616.61) if the whole circular bearing WCB
of the first tangent is = 55̊ 12̍ 17̋ and radius = 131.45m . the deflection angle of the
of the second curve is = 33̊ 12̍ 21̋ if the station PI is (114 +13) its required to
compute the curve elements and the principle stations. Then set out the second
