Action and Stative Verbs
Action Verbs
They show an action rather than a state.
They describe things we do or things that happen.
Action verbs can be used in continuous tenses.
They are sometimes known as ' Dynamic or Active Verbs '.
( eat, learn, read, reach, jump, run, go etc )
Stative Verbs
They describe a state rather than an action.
They show thought or opinions, emotions, senses, possession.
Stative Verbs can't be used in continuous tenses.
They are sometimes known as ' State Verbs '.
( believe, understand, have, hate, love, hear, depend, dislike, concern, consist etc )
Decide whether the following sentences are correct or incorrect .
