Summary:
This class in Commercial Print reading will be taught using drawings from
Building 9 on the Rock Creek Campus. We will learn how the building code and
sustainable design both impact the building and the drawings. Using LEED for new
construction we will analyze the drawings for LEED’s relevance to the different
sections.
Architect’s scale (1”= 16’, 8’, 4’, or 1/8”= 1’, ¼” = 1’, 1/16” = 1’etc.)
Civil Engineer’s scale (1”=10’, 20’, 30’, etc.), Centimeter/meter scale
3-Ring binder
How you will be graded
1. Attendance = 25% of final score
2. Assignments and Quizzes = 25% of final score
3. Mid-term = 25% of final score
4. Final = 25% of final score

those goals. Due Oct 4th
3. Drafting handbook
a. Homework assignment #2 Review Drafting Handbook. Write 1
page summary of this handbook. Due Sept. 27th
4. Tour Building 9 on the Rock Creek campus.
5. In class assignment #1 (if you run out of time in class, this must be
completed at home by Sept 27th)
