Assessment Plan AAS or Certificate _______Bioscience Certificate_______ To be submitted by November 15, 2010 This certificate has Outcomes that are mostly distinct the AAS outcomes, and cannot be assessed in the same manner because those students do not do Work Experience as part of the program. Assessment will be in Year 2 For assessment of the certificate: Key classroom assessments that apply to these outcomes will be identified in each relevant course Assessments will be conducted as needed for the course, but student scores on these identified questions will be normalized to a 5 point scale. Instructors will report the combined class result to the SAC chair, who will prepare the report Degree/Certificate Outcome (*Perkins recipients TSA) Work in compliance with safety principles to protect self, co-workers, the work area and the product in a bioscience workplace. Professional Competence Communication In BIT 109 – Lab Notebook Evaluation and BIT 109 -- Project interview Plan and organize tasks to allow efficient completion of complex procedures, including planning and executing multiple procedures that proceed simultaneously. Self Reflection Cultural Awareness In BIT 109 – task-planning activity (to Yr 2 be developed): provided with two (2011-12) protocols that need to be done on the same day, produce a work plan.
