New material will include: a. The purpose of assignment #5 is to have you demonstrate your understanding of scheduling. As a manager, scheduling requires a range of considerations to maintain a smooth flow of operations. Steps for this assignment: a. Build a schedule of a program consisting of multiple classes/events (it can be anywhere from 1 day to 1 week. It should not exceed 1 week simply to maintain scope of the assignment). b. Your schedule should include staff, equipment, facilities (e.g. planning for rooms, fields, waterfront, etc.), and logistics (e.g. getting your participants/students from one location to another within their stay at your agency). c. Provide a schedule that a participant would receive (external) and one that is used by staff (internal). The external schedule does not need to include graphics or other features that comprise the final “camera-ready” mockup. It should be presented in a manner that is organized enough so that a customer could easily understand it (refer to some of the in-class handouts or to those provided by the department of Rec Sports – Outdoor Program). d. An overview (1-2 pages) of a risk management plan for your agency. An outline of a plan for staff development for a 12-month time period pertinent to your agency. e. A plan of evaluating your agencies success including a 1-year; 3-year; and 5-year plan.
