CONNECTIONS FOR SUCCESS
SPRING 2016 APPLICATION
Thank you for your interest in applying to the Connections for Success: Leadership and Professional
Development Program and retreat happening on March 4-5 2016. You MUST complete ALL
questions on this form in order to be considered and you MUST be a sophomore student to
apply. A sophomore for this program is defined by the time spent at a college, not by credit hours.
The information obtained in this application will help the committee determine which students are
admitted into the Connections for Success Cohort 2016.
Upon acceptance to the program, students must participate in 3 out of the 7 activities listed below in
order to attend the retreat. Students will have from admittance in December until the retreat in March
to fulfill these requirements.







Participate in a Behind the Scenes Tour- Spring Job and Internship Fair (offered the week of
February 8, 2016)
Attend an Enhancing Your LinkedIn Profile-Group Appointment (offered weekly, see Fleishman
Center calendar)
Complete 3 questions on InterviewStream (access on Fleishman Center website at any time)
Attend a Cool Connections, Hot Alumni program (see Fleishman Center Program calendar)
Attend Metro Connections Night (Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in NYC)
Complete the 5 FOCUS 2 Self Assessments (access on Fleishman Center website at any
time)
Sign up and participate in a NYC Employer visit (offered week of January 11-15, 2016)
The Connections for Success Program is an opportunity for sophomore students to learn leadership
and professional development skills from alumni, employers, and staff through engaging activities and
conference-style sessions during an overnight retreat at the Casowasco Camp and Retreat Center in
Moravia, New York. Transportation to and from the retreat and meals will be provided for students,
staff, alumni and employers. A packing list will be given upon admittance in the cohort.
Binghamton's Fleishman Center staff manages the application process. Applications will only be
accepted through the hireBING system. To apply, upload your resume to hireBING, as well as your
completed page 2 of this application saved as an “other document” to the Connections for Success:
Leadership and Professional Development Program posting in hireBING (search for posting 7401). If

for Career and Professional Development recommends that your resume be critiqued by the
Fleishman Center during walk-in or appointment hours.
This program is available to sophomores who have completed one year of college at Binghamton
University or at another institution. College credit earned while in high school is not counted for the
purpose of this event. By signing below, you are confirming that you meet the criteria for participation
