Levy-Navarro, Hien Nguyen, Tim Reutebuch, Bob Siemann, Nikki Mandell, David Simmons, Michael
Bennett, Brett Woods, Paul Gregory and Dale Splinter
1. Approval of Minutes of Nov. 13, 2014 - Motion made by Z. Ghavamshahidi and N. Mandell to
approve minutes. Motion passed.
2. Proposal/Discussion of possible change of procedures.
a. Write letters after the meeting in the groups listed in the Grid, bring edits to the
meeting, and vote on approval of letters at the following meeting - Discussion ensued;
topic tabled.
3. Approval of Departmental Standards:
a. Computer Science - Motion to approve made by H. Nguyen and Z. Ghavamshahidi.
Motion passed.
b. Women’s and Gender Studies - returned with suggestions for revisions.
4. Discussion of and Approval/Revisions to the Letter to Chairs - Some minor changes were made
to letter. Motion by A. Boukahil and P. Gregory to approve letter. Motion passed. Motion made
by D. Simmons and N. Mandell to send letter to all L&S Chairpersons, David Travis and other CSC
committees Chairs and USC Chair. Motion passed.
5. Discussion and Decision on the candidates for promotion to full professor.
a. Bob Benjamin - Z. Ghavamshahidi and P. Adogamhe made a motion to approve for
promotion. Motion to approve was unanimous.
b. Susan Huss-Lederman - D. Simmons and N. Mandell made a motion to approve for
promotion. Motion to approve was unanimous.
c. Patrick Moran - P. Adogamhe and P. Gregory made a motion to approve for promotion.
Motion to approve was unanimous.
d. Magarita Alario - Consideration deferred to next week as Purple Book was not available
(Purple book was in Dean’s office).
e. Jodie Parys - Bennett and Beaver made a motion to approve for promotion. Motion to
approve was unanimous.
f. Lauren Smith - P. Gregory and P. Adogamhe made a motion to approve for promotion.
Motion to approve was unanimous.
g. Abdelkrim Boukahil - Z. Ghavamshahidi and B. Woods made a motion to approve for
promotion. Motion to approve was unanimous.
6. D. Simons and P. Gregory made a motion to adjourn. Motion passed.
