Voting Eligibility of Full-Time Administrators with Faculty Rank
The Organization Committee invites input and views regarding the
voting eligibility for full-time Administrators with Faculty Rank
(i.e., Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, or
Instructor) in University-level Faculty Elections (such as those for
Faculty Committees, Faculty Senate, Faculty Referendums), and
University-level Faculty Meetings (such as Fall, Spring, Special
Meetings).
Currently, neither the Faculty Constitution nor the By Laws addresses
this issue either way, i.e. whether full-time Administrators with
Faculty rank are eligible, or not eligible to vote.
It would be advisable to have the Faculty take action on this. Before
the Organization Committee makes any recommendations to the University
Faculty, it invites Administrators, Faculty, Academic Staff with
Faculty Status, and others of the University community to provide
input and views on this issue in a non-binding, open discussion
meeting.
