Young Auditorium is located at 930 West Main Street in Whitewater. Avery’s mother, Bridget McCarthy, is the founder of AVERYday Ministries. She states, “Avery was a sister, a student, an actress, a dancer, a gymnast, a swimmer, a volleyball player and a lover of Jesus Christ. She may have grown up in small town Delavan, Wisconsin, but her heart was truly with the children of Haiti. Her dream was to one day move to Haiti and live in an orphanage where she could take care of all of the children and teach them about God's unfailing love.” The Avery House will be a transitional home for young women who are aging out of the orphanage system. This home will help to keep these girls safe as they continue their education. By continuing their education and helping them develop skills in fields they are passionate about, the girls will be -more- more able to improve their quality of life and their country from within. McCarthy states, "We're giving them a chance to live a full life. Currently, when young ladies turn 18 they are packed up, driven away from the orphanage and dropped off somewhere to fend for themselves. Typically, they find an older man who is willing to ‘provide’ for them which can often lead to both physical and sexual abuse. Survival is all they are concerned with. By continuing their education and developing skills in fields they are passionate about, these girls might actually have a shot at improving their country from within. The hope is that they'll even come back to the orphanage as adults to help encourage the next generation." In order to make The Avery House a reality, $50,000 needs to be raised to build and sustain the transitional home. The Seeds of Faith Concert is the next step in this venture. The concert will feature Jamie Grace, along with Lakeland Church Worship (Delavan) as the opening act. Jamie Grace is a 22 year old singer-songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia. Her debut single “Hold Me” featuring TobyMac landed her a nomination at the 2012 Grammy awards where she was the youngest nominee. That year, she was also nominated for a Billboard Award and four Dove Awards, going home as the Dove Awards New Artist of the Year. A graduate of Point University with a bachelor’s in child and youth development, Jamie Grace uses her platform as a singer, songwriter, speaker and actress as a way to motivate those around her, especially kids and teens. At 11 years old, Jamie was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome and knows first-hand the importance of being encouraged at a young age. Jamie Grace is touring full time opening for and co-headlining with artists such as TobyMac, Newsong and Matthew West and has launched social media sites ImaGodgirl.com and ImAFighter.org. McCarthy continues, “I believe her [Avery’s] dreams can still come true, even after death. I want to keep her dreams alive with the Jamie Grace - Seeds of Faith Concert on April 18th…We began AVERYday Ministries as a way to continue to be Avery’s voice in our world. She was filled with so much love, kindness and compassion, and her plans were filled with so much hope.” AVERYday Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit organization (501c3 pending) seeking to plant seeds of discipleship to grow great Christians and engage young people with God.
