PROFILE STATEMENT PROVIDED BY CANDIDATE
It is with equal measures of excitement and humility that I ask to be considered as a candidate for
the position of Provost and Vice President for Academic Services at Monroe Community
College.
For the past three years, I’ve been fortunate to be a part of MCC’s dynamic academic
community, and it is my passion and my enthusiasm for the empowering work of the faculty and
staff that makes me apply for this demanding position. Simply put, the role of Provost is not
about academic credentials, or theories of leadership, nor the ego of an individual – it is, in the
most authentic way, about helping faculty and staff transform the lives of our students. My
passions and my academic values, then, shape the kind of Provost I’d strive to be.
