ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR PERIOD
ALUMNI
Forty alumni volunteers welcomed students on the first day of the semester.
Held second Florida event for alumni, retirees and friends in Florida; 20 attended.
Delivered over 1,000 Hall of Fame Nomination Forms to business, civic and college leaders.
Secured $1,500 GIK donation from Van Zile Travel (Kate Van Zile - MCC alumna).
Received 50 gifts from current students supporting the Class Gift Dedication campaign.
Presented Damir Saracevic '91 as guest speaker at the Counseling & Testing Center's Small
Business Management Career Forum.
ANNUAL FUND
Annual giving $337,148.
Direct mail and telemarketing efforts are up 13% in total dollars donated over the same period in
F2002.
Board participation currently is 64%, resulting in $25,310 total.
BOARD GOVERNANCE
Identified primary and alternate candidates to serve on the 2003/2004 Board.
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
Total gifts and pledges through February = $7,789,905.
Mid-Campaign Reports have been mailed to 7,000+ donors, friends and prospects.
Richard S. Warshof ’68 has accepted role of Special Gifts Division Chair, Kathy Pavelka ’79 will serve as Alumni Campaign Team Chair and Arnold Klinsky will head up retail business segment.
FINANCE/INVESTMENT/AUDIT COMMITTEES
Susan Gurak and Brenda Herrmann attended SCT Summit 2003 in New Orleans to gain information on implementation of new Banner software.
Scholarship transfer of $124,297 sent to college January 2003.
Reviewed investment manager performance at annual presentation on February 11, 2003.
ANNUAL GRANTS COMMITTEE
Awarded $18,151 for six grant proposals that were submitted by the MCC faculty and staff. (See packet for listing). The Charter I Endowed Chair was awarded to Marilyn Rosche, director of
AmeriCorps, for AmeriCorps member development.
PLANNED GIVING
Finalized gift conditions of Hallauer Johnson bequest and charitable remainder trust.
Developed second edition of IDEAS, the MCC Foundation Planned Giving newsletter, sent to 4,000 alumni, donors, faculty, retirees and friends of the College.
Received three new planned gift notifications for inclusion in the Alice Holloway Young Society.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Mid-campaign report produced.
Winter 2003 Foundations newsletter produced and mailed.

Have selected two recipients of the Carl Hallauer Scholarship for Criminal Justice. Both recipients are seniors at Marshall High School and are advancing from the Rochester Police Department
Police Cadet Program at Marshall to MCC’s Criminal Justice Program.
Applications for the 2003-2004 Thompson Scholarship Program are being circulated.
