How to Enter a Class Cancellation Through the MCC Web Site 1. Enter MCC’s web site – www.monroecc.edu. 2. On the left side of the page, click on Employees. You are now on the MCC Employees Page. 1 3. There are several different windows on the MCC Employee web page. On the left-hand side of the page, under the Academic Resources window, click on the fourth hyperlink down - “Cancel a Class”. 4. You will be prompted to enter your network logon, using the same userid and password you use when logging onto your pc in your office. 2 5. Any class cancellations for the day will be listed. At the bottom of the page is a button labeled “Create a Class Cancellation”. Please click on this button to bring up the input form page. 3 6. On the form, please enter the following information: Course number 3 character curriculum/department code from drop-down menu 3 position course level code 3 position section – usually all numeric but could be a combination of number and alpha characters examples – ENG 101 001 ENG 101 121 ENG 101 CC1 Clicking on Master Schedule links you to the online Master Schedule if you need to verify section numbers, room numbers, etc. Professor first name, last name example – John Smith Cancellation Date Date – defaults to current date to select a future date enter in MM/DD/YY format or click on the calendar and then on the day of the cancellation If the cancellation is for more than one day, each cancellation needs to be input separately. Day of the Week Day is auto-displayed from the date entered Time for the Class Enter the class start time and include “am” or “pm” Examples – 9:00 am, 12:00 pm Campus Click on the campus location from the drop-down list Room Number Building and room number if at Brighton Campus or just room number for other campuses Examples – 11-150 6-404 23-107 4 Semester Click on the semester from the drop-down list Note: indication of semester is needed to cross-reference the Outlook distribution list for this class. Enter all fields completely and accurately. Click on the “Submit Cancellation” button, which will bring up a request to ensure that the form is filled out accurately. Click “ok” or “cancel”. 5 A screen will then pop up indicating to you that the students in your class have been sent an email and that the cancellation has been posted to the web. After hitting the “ok” button, the class cancellation web page will appear. Other cancellations may be entered at this time. If there are none, close out the window. 6 The students in your class will receive an email with the following message: Viewing the Class Cancellation On the MCC Web Page At the top of the MCC homepage, click on “Quick Links”: 7 Click on “Class Cancellations”: To view the details of a class cancellation, click on the Course Number. 8 . Class Cancellation Telephone Line 292-2066 Students in locations without computer access may listen to class cancellations on the Class Cancellation Line by calling 292-2066. The list of cancellations is “refreshed” on the telephone line every 5 minutes. Therefore, there is a 5 minute delay between the submission of the cancellation on the web page and the transmission to the telephone line. When dialing the class cancellation line, the caller will first hear whether or not there are class cancellations for that day. If there are, the caller will be prompted for the campus location where his or her class or classes take place. Only class cancellations for the current day will be heard on this line. If the time for the class has passed, the cancellation will not be read. Digital Signage Network Class cancellations will show on the large LCD panels located throughout the Campus Center. These are timed to appear on a rotation with other material showing on the network. 9 10
