Promotion from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor
Thaddeus (Ted) Ciambor, Library Services – M.L.S. from SUNY at Buffalo and
M.S. and B.A. from SUNY College at Buffalo. First year at MCC – 1999.
Ted was appointed as Assistant Director in the Library in June 1999 and
almost immediately was called upon to serve as Interim Director of the
LeRoy V. Good Library, a position he held for over 2 ½ years of his first
five years at MCC. Highlights of this period include the supervision of
the day-to-day operations of a multi-campus, multi-library environment,
management of a $1.3 million budget, serving as the College Records
Manager, overseeing the move of Archives and Records Management to
the Damon campus, negotiating a new contract with the SUNY Student
Resource Center, coordinating the completion the Library goals and
objectives, initiating a number of internal grants, and representing the
Libraries and the College at regional and state-wide collaborative
organizations. Ted has served on, and chaired, a wide range of Library
and College committees. Ted is the Project Manager for the Library
Migration Project (as we move from our current Library Management
System to Aleph Ex Libris). Ted has been a significant partner to many
recent technology enhancements in the ETS Libraries including offsite
access, e-reserves, and the establishment of a wireless environment.
Ted is recognized across the state as a leader and is called upon to fill
important roles as evidenced in his recent election as Vice President of
the SUNY Library Association and his selection as Chair for their annual
conference planning.
From Technical Assistant to Senior Technical Assistant
Jeremy Case, Instructional Technology – B.A. from SUNY Binghamton. First
year at MCC – 1999. Since Jeremy joined the College five years ago, he
has made many positive contributions. He readily accepts responsibility
and seeks out new and innovative methods to maximize the quality of the
projects in which he is involved. Jeremy’s technology acumen has
significantly accelerated the College’s transition from analog to digital
video editing. He has created numerous videos that consistently receive
praise for their professional quality. Some of Jeremy’s most recent credits
include production of the “Intro to Teaching as a Profession,” video, the
annual National Poetry Month videos, and the “Success in the SLN
Classroom” CD for new SLN students. In addition, Jeremy produces well
over a hundred video clips each year and provides technology support for
virtually all areas of the College, be it working with individual faculty and
staff or College-wide events including Commencement, All College Day,
and the Foundation’s Salute to Excellence Dinner. Jeremy has
experimented with 3-dimensional and virtual-realty programs to support
such programs as dental hygiene and automotive technology. He also
produced the first interactive graphic tour of the dental hygiene clinic.
Jeremy was instrumental in the development of a process to make MCC
event CDs for promotional purposes including vocal and instrumental
concerts. Finally, his creativity has led to the integration of streamingvideo into online courses and MCC’s web services. In the community
Jeremy provides technology support for the annual High School
Engineering Competition and the Day Care Provider Town Meetings in
conjunction with the Parent Network. A musician, Jeremy plays guitar and
piano with his church’s folk group and teaches piano to several
elementary age children.
