Attachment A TEXAS WOMAN’S UNIVERSITY Faculty Review Committee Procedure for Hearing The Chair of the Appeal Subcommittee, in the presence of the parties and the members of the committee, will: 1. Introduce all persons present in the hearing room. 2. State reasons for hearing. 3. Ask for presentation from the Appellant. Questions to Appellant by Respondent(s). Questions to Appellant by Members of Committee. 4. Ask for response from the Respondent(s). Questions to Respondent by Appellant. Questions to Respondent by Members of Committee. 5. Recognize Appellant for questions to Appellant’s Witnesses (one at a time). Questions to Witness by Respondent(s). Questions to Witness by Members of Committee. 6. Recognize Respondent(s) for questions to Respondent(s) Witnesses (one at a time). Questions to Witness by Appellant. Questions to Witness by Members of Committee. 7. Invite concluding statements. (Equal time will be allocated for each party.) By Appellant. By Respondent(s). 8. Begin Executive Session. All persons other than members of the Appeal Subcommittee will be excused and asked to leave the room. The recommendation of the members of the committee will be transmitted by its Chair to the Chancellor who will notify the parties of the recommendation. NOTE: Only the members of the Appeal Subcommittee and the parties, each with a peer or representative, will be present during the hearing, except that one witness at a time may be present while testifying.
