ACETIC ACID SOLUTION
Acetic acid is a solution used to cleanse wounds. Bacteria (germs) can’t grow or multiply in an acidic
environment. Acetic acid will help keep your wound clean. Perform the following step to make an acetic acid
solution:
1. Boil one quart of water
2. Add ¼ cup of white vinegar to the boiled water
3. Upon cooling, store the solution in a clean, labeled bottle
4. Keep the solution for up to one week
5. Apply solution to the wound as directed by your nurse or physician.
Warning - Keep solution out of reach of children.
