Writing Prompt:
Describe how the assigned film reflects foundational concepts in the study of film in one of the following
areas: 1) contributes to the history or development of a specific filmic genre; 2) exemplifies defining
characteristics of a major era related to the production of film; or 3) makes a significant contribution to the
history or artistic achievement of specific culture or to Western culture more broadly. Use specific examples
from the film to support your analysis and claims.
