Text: All reading material will be photocopied and distributed in class. Course Objectives: To develop your understanding of the role of a statistical consultant and to give you experience in performing statistical consulting. Assigned reading from statistical and social sciences literature will present a perspective from which to veiw the art of statistical consulting. The Course will focus on teaching you skills about: 1. Interactions and theory of interactions 2. What skills you need for CONSULTING and COLLBORATION 3. Body Language 4. Summarizing Data 5. Presentation skills (written and oral) Evaluation Your grade will be based on class attendance, class participation, participation in the four consulting sessions and a limited number of short written reports. You will be asked to prepare both written and oral presentations of an independent project. There will be no written examinations.
