Commonwealth Government Evaluation of the
Innovation Access Programme – International Science and
Technology (IAP-IST) and predecessor programmes
EVALUATION QUESTIONNAIRE FOR FUNDING
RECIPIENTS
Your business or organisation participated in a project that received government support
under the Innovation Access Programme – International Science and Technology (IAP–IST)
or its predecessor programmes, including the International Relations and Development and
Technology Access (IAP–IRDTA), and the Targeted Research Alliances element of the
Technology Diffusion Programme (TRA–TDP).
The various elements of the IAP–IST (and its predecessor programmes) are currently being
evaluated by The Allen Consulting Group, on behalf of the Commonwealth Department of
Education, Science and Training, to identify the successful and unsuccessful features of the
program, and the lessons that might influence the design of future activities.
The attached questions are designed to gather important information on the impact of the
IAP–IST (and its predecessor programmes) on your organisation. This information will assist
the government in its efforts to continue supporting innovative Australian businesses and
organisations in the future. This Questionnaire is different to customer satisfaction surveys
that have been sent to you previously.
For the businesses or organisations that participated in a project that received government
support under the TRA–TDP, we understand that you have previously received and
completed questionnaires in relation to your participation. However, we would be especially
grateful if you could please put aside a few minutes to assist with this important exercise. At
the time you were last surveyed about the outcomes flowing from your participation, only a
short time had passed since your project’s completion. Your results and comments since you
were last surveyed, in particular, are important to the evaluation.
If you would like to include any additional information in your answers please do so on a
separate sheet of paper and attach to the end of the questionnaire.
We appreciate your cooperation, and trust that you will be able to assist by providing the
information sought by COB 22 August 2003. If you have any questions or wish to clarify any
issues, please contact either John Burch or Sharon Kennard on 02 6230 0185. If you consider
that any of the information you provide is particularly sensitive please also bring this to our
attention. If you have any special requirements that mean it is difficult to respond using the
fax back form, please let us know by telephone or email.
The Allen Consulting Group is authorised to collect all items of information in this survey
under the Australian Government's IAP-IST. The information will be used in the
administration of that program. The Allen Consulting Group will not disclose individual
responses to DEST. They may collect this information for their relevant lawful purposes in
accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Information Privacy Principles.
Please return your completed questionnaire by fax (using the enclosed Fax Back Form) to
The Allen Consulting Group on 02 6230 0149. Please be assured that all information
collected will be treated as Commercial-In-Confidence.
