Official information
This application form has been approved under section 12A of the Ozone Layer Protection Act 1996 (OLPA). The
Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) will use the information you provide in this form to consider your
application for the replacement of methyl bromide as a wholesaler under regulation 7(3) of the Ozone Layer
Protection Regulations 1996 (OLPR). The EPA will record the information in the Ozone Layer Protection Register
(established by section 12B of OLPA).
Information you provide in this application form is subject to potential disclosure under the Official Information
Act 1982 (OIA). Commercially sensitive information must be marked as such and may be withheld in the event of
an OIA request, if permitted by the OIA. Further information on the OIA is available at
www.ombudsmen.parliament.nz.

Information provided as part of this application is collected by the EPA for the purpose of administering the permit
and exemption regimes under OLPA (including enforcement under OLPA) and complying with international
obligations relating to the management of ozone-depleting substances.
Definitions
These terms have the meaning given in regulation 2 of the OLPR:

means any treatments to prevent the introduction, establishment or spread of quarantine pests
(including diseases), or to ensure their official control, where:
Quarantine
applications
(a) official control is that performed by, or authorised by, a national plant, animal or
environmental protection of health authority;
(b) quarantine pests are pests of potential importance to the areas endangered thereby and
not yet present there, or present but not widely distributed and being officially controlled.
(a) means any treatments applied, no later than 21 days before export, to meet:
(i) the official requirements of the importing country; or
(ii) the existing official requirements of the exporting country –
Pre-shipment
applications
being the official requirement performed or authorised by a national plant, animal,
environmental, health, or stored product authority; but
(b) does not include quarantine applications.
