Position: A06645 Date: February 18, 2015 ADMINISTRATIVE POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: DEPARTMENT: Admissions Program Manager Gabelli School of Business RESPONSIBILITIES: Holds primary responsibility for the admissions and recruiting process, from the prospect stage to the enrollment stage, for the MSA and MST. Works with these programs’ faculty directors to determine specific qualifications for admission and the decision process to be followed for each, with the understanding that the programs may differ. Closely monitors the submission of applications and works with candidates to complete their applications. With the utmost excellence in customer service and interpersonal relations, communicates with applicants at all points in the application and enrollment process, including ensuring that admissions decisions are delivered accurately and efficiently. Helps to develop and execute a recruiting plan for the MSA and MST, working with the Assistant Director of Admissions and Enrollment with input and guidance from faculty program directors. Coordinates with the Assistant Director to ensure that the recruiting plan is consistent with the overall enrollment-development plan. Answers applicant questions related to assigned degree programs, taking the initiative to work with faculty and administrators to fill in any gaps in programmatic knowledge. Organizes the application review process for assigned programs, reviews applications and, if appropriate, interviews candidates and makes recommendations to the admissions committee. Serves as a member of one or more cross-functional teams that combine admissions staff with colleagues in academic advising, personal and professional development, and alumni relations to serve students in an end-to-end process. Supports the Assistant Director of Admissions and Enrollment in recruiting efforts. Conducts one-on-one information sessions and organizes class visits for assigned programs. Effectively uses the admissions CRM system to keep in touch with applicants and enhance yield. Becomes proficient in all admissions systems, including, but not limited to, Slate and Banner. Provides backup support for other Admissions Program Managers and other admissions staff. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in required. A master’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in accounting and/or have a strong understanding of the accounting field. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Solid analytical and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proven ability to work under pressure, to multitask, and to balance competing constituencies. Ability and willingness to travel internationally and to work some evenings and weekends. Collaborative approach and ability to be a team player.
