EDUC 1325

Field Study

It is a state requirement that all students enrolled in EDUC 1325 complete a 16 hour field study. You will complete all forms and submit to your instructor along with a

4-5 page paper describing your visit and observations. You must earn a 70% or above on this paper to receive a grade for this class.

You need to visit a bilingual or ESL EC-12 th grade classroom. These visits may be in a public, private or charter school at any grade level. You will need to call a school or visit a school to request permission. You may be asked to submit a Criminal

Background check form. Most school districts are requesting this approval prior to anyone visiting the classrooms for any length of time. You will need the school to complete some of the forms that have been given to you by your instructor.

The length of each visit may be determined by you and your school. You may want to visit 8 times for 2 hours. You may want to visit 4 times for 4 hrs. You may ask to do volunteer work during your visit or you may just sit and observe. This will be between you and your teacher.
