University of Cincinnati Workfest Experience Coordinator
The Workfest Experience Coordinator serves as an important leader of the Workfest experience, carrying out crucial
logistics, communication and educational tasks. The Workfest Experience Coordinator will work in partnership with the
University Honors Program staff member(s) responsible for coordinating a successful Workfest experience. One primary
responsibility is to assist in the logistics and communication prior to the experience, which will include the development
and coordination of pre-departure communication, materials, and activities such as the selection of pre-departure
readings and creation of the participant manual. Another important task is to develop on-site reflection activities to be
done as a team during the evenings of the experience. The Workfest Experience Coordinator will then be responsible for
the facilitation of the wrap-up meeting to be held in April. The final project will be the development of a pass-down log,
which will be used to document the experience that will include participant testimonials, advice for future coordinators,
and any other materials the coordinator deems useful.
The Workfest Experience Coordinator position is a six month commitment, from November through the following April.
They must be available for planning meetings with the UHP staff member, pre-departure meetings, Workfest, and the
wrap-up meetings. Arrangements can be made for a student who is on co-op either fall or spring semester. Fall semester
planning meetings can be done through Skype, so location of co-op is of no consequence. However, if a student is on coop spring semester, it must be in the Cincinnati area and be able to host all the necessary meetings with participants.
This position may be submitted as a self-design experience to count toward University Honors program requirements. A
successful proposal should be submitted and approved during the December submission process.
