GENERAL DESIGN CRITERIA

Piping
Ductwork
Equipment
Internal duct insulation and lining is not permitted unless it is required because of
acoustical concerns within the space. Where needed for acoustics, a flexible
elastomer cellular insulation such as AP Armaflex SA by Armstrong is acceptable.
Specify vapor barrier on cold surfaces (temp < 60F); and emphasize importance of
preserving the integrity of the barrier, particularly during construction when it is most
susceptible to damage.
Specify insulation where required on hot surfaces, to prevent burning hazard to
people.
