Requirements For Projects One song, any genre or style of music. Each song must be at least 2 ½ minutes in length 14 tracks minimum per song At least 4 tracks must be acoustic sources (captured with a microphone) All recording/ production must be done using the Houston Community College facilities and equipment in PAC Rm #418 Projects completed using outside recording equipment/ studios will not receive credit. Each song must utilize at least two dynamics processors and one time-domain processor All effects processing settings must be recorded and submitted with final mix, as well as a correctly filled out track sheet Remember to always back up your work. Failure to turn in work due to lack of an effective back-up plan will result in a failing grade for this project Rough Tracks Evaluation To be presented on this day: March 22nd Basic tracks Detailed track sheet Studio session logs Final Project Evaluation Bring all of the following materials on April 26th: Basic tracks Detailed track sheet Studio session logs All computer files Final MASTER on CD-R Written Proposal All proposals must include the following information: Name of engineer Name of musical group or artist Music Genre or style Title and approximate length of song Instrumentation to be used Breakdown of basic tracking, overdubbing, and mixdown sessions (how many sessions will be required and for what duration) Hypothetical budget that includes studio time, materials, rentals, etc. Pricing should be broken down by category followed by a final total of all expenses expected for the project.
