INTRODUCTION 1.1 The purpose of the event was to consider the approval of the following pathways:. CONCLUSIONS 2.1 The Panel recommends to the Senate the approval of the pathways as listed in paragraph 1.1 above. Approval, once confirmed, will be for an indefinite period, subject to Anglia Ruskin’s continuing quality assurance procedures. 2.2 The Panel recommends to the Senate the approval of twelve new modules for delivery. The full titles of all new modules are provided in section D of this report. 2.3 Conditions Approval is subject to the following conditions which were set by the Panel. Game Integration To amend the intended learning outcomes to replace ‘discuss’ with ‘evaluate’; to replace ‘contribute to’ with ‘to specify, design and evaluate assets for a 3D computer game’. Application Programming To remove the reference to ‘Windows’ and to remove the note suggesting that students will require their own laptops to complete the assessment. 17th June 2009 Chair and Officers Recommendations The following recommendations for quality enhancement were made by the Panel. A copy of the responses to the recommendations listed below must be lodged with the Executive Officer. The Faculty Board for the Faculty of Science and Technology will consider the responses at its meeting of 5th October 2009: 2.4.1 2.4.2 2.5 Details of Recommendation The Pathway Team for the BSc (Hons) Computing are asked to consider the inclusion of an Independent Learning Module within the list of designates for the pathway. Deadline 18th Sept 2009 The Head of Department is asked to consider the publication of a strategy regarding the provision of appropriate staff development opportunities for existing and new staff in order to ensure adequate coverage of modules for both existing and future curricula offerings, especially in the context of anticipated growth in student numbers.
