CMT 4th August 2014 CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS Planning approval is sought for the following proposals: INSTITUTIONAL APPROVAL PROPOSALS OVERVIEW OF CATEGORY A OUTCENTRE PROPOSALS FOR RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT INTERNATIONAL LTD (RDI) RDI offer two delivery models, online delivery known as Online and blended learning delivery known as OnlinePlus (combines 5-10% face-to-face with online). RDI are already approved to deliver a number of validated courses through the Online delivery model, the proposal is to approve planning for three new Category A Outcentres to enable RDI to offer OnlinePlus blended learning as well as purely online learning. The proposed Outcentres will act as a resource base for OnlinePlus; face-to-face delivery will be undertaken by RDI academics approved by ARU. The Outcentres will provide classroom space and drop-in access to use facilities including library, counselling and social as well as the RDI online library and learning facilities Both models offer quarterly entry points a year as per RDI’s standard intake points in October, January, April and July. RDI retains all academic control and delivers the same academic support for both models. Panel visits to formally approve the outcentres comprising a Chair and Officer are anticipated to take place in late August/early September.
