DECISION
Originally submitted to CMT on the 20th of October 2014, the
face-to-face element has been removed from the proposal
The 3 year course is already franchised to LSM being
delivered full-time and part-time by distance learning
The proposal is to franchise a top up distance learning
course by a trimester delivery pattern to LSM
The course will be the old structure now managed by the
Department of Leadership and Management for delivery at
Associate Colleges
Proposed tuition fees as per the academic agreement
Anticipated recruitment of over 280 students a year
The proposal is to meet student demand for summer intakes

The course will utilise a global public health perspective
aimed at all practitioners who work with women and
children therefore appealing to both home and international
students (market research attached to planning form)

Chelmsford by blended learning
Proposed Home/EU tuition fee of £9,050 (band 3),
international fee £11,000
Anticipated annual recruitment 10-20 FTE
The course will be designed to expose the student to leading
edge technology used for the diagnosis and monitoring of
disease and in the maintenance of digital patient records
The course will potentially attract students from Australia,
South Africa and India
67% new modules of 2 x 30 credit and 1 x 60 credit modules
The course will be designed in conjunction with an external
Advisory Board with members drawn from local industry
associations with the MedTech campus
No significant capital spend; the course will be led by a
newly appointed lecturer

Proposal for a new integrated postgraduate degree to be
delivered at Chelmsford
Proposed Home/EU tuition fee of £9,000, international fee
£10,300
Anticipated annual recruitment 20 FTE
The course would be accredited by the Joint Board of
Moderators on behalf of the Institution of Civil Engineers,
Institution of Structural Engineers, Institution of Highways
and Transportation and the Institute of Highway Engineers
The integrated MEng is accepted as a first degree and
therefore student loans are available for the full four years
although the fourth year will be at the higher UG rate
Graduate will receive all the accredited learning necessary to
achieve chartered engineer status appealing to both home
and international students
16% new modules of 1 x 30 credit and 3 x 15 credit modules
available to the MSc Civil Engineering course
Approximate cost of laboratory equipment will be £24,250
