1.Students will be able to describe the interactions that are involved in the workplace and
how their personal life interacts with the workplace.
2.Emphasis will be placed on:
a. self management
b. workplace basics,
c. career planning,
d.job search, resume and interview techniques.
The concepts, issues and skills needed are listed below.
1. Students will complete a written personal goal plan with short and long term
goals
2. Students will learn how to set up a personal budget
3. They will learn time management and use a personal time log to identify time
wasters
4. They will role play to learn how to resolve conflicts
5. Role play will also be used to study interview techniques
6. Students will write a cover letter and resume

There will be 3 exams. They will be a combination of True-False, Multiple Choice/Fill in
and Essay. There will be no make up of exams unless extenuating circumstances exist
and you need to be discussed with me prior to granting a make up. Additionally a class
project will be assigned.
