AICPA Scholarships for Minority Accounting Students - Also found in

The AICPA Minority Scholarship awards outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of
accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. Funding is provided by the AICPA
Foundation, with contributions from the New Jersey Society of CPAs and Robert Half International. For
four decades, this program has provided over $14 .6 million in scholarships to approximately 8,000
accounting scholars.

American Chemical Society Scholarships
Offering a maximum of $3,000 per year. To be considered a candidate, students should meet the
following criteria: African-American, Hispanic/Latino, or American, Indian; U.S. citizen or permanent
resident of the U.S.; full-time student at an accredited college, university, or community college; high
academic achievers in chemistry or science, (Grade Point Average 3.0, "B" or better); able to
demonstrate evidence of financial need according to FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student
Aid) and the Student Aid Report (SAR) form; a graduating high school senior, college freshman,
sophomore or junior intending to or already majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or

American Fire Extinguisher Scholarship Program
The AFSA Scholarship Contest is open to high school seniors in the United States who plan to further
their education at a college/university or certified trade school in the United States. The scholarship is not
based on financial need. Relatives of AFSA staff or board members may not enter. You must be a high
school senior during the 2013-2014 school year who will attend a college/university or trade school in the
United States starting with the fall 2014 semester.
Requirements: All applicants must read the "Fire Sprinkler Essay" (pdf) or (html) (approximately 3,000
words) about automatic fire sprinklers and take a ten-question multiple-choice test. This is an open-book
test and you may print out the paper beforehand for reference during testing. For each question answered
correctly, students will receive one (1) entry into a drawing for one of ten $2,000 scholarships. For each
question answered incorrectly, you will be given one more chance at the end of the exam to answer those

American Legion Legacy Scholarship
Through The American Legion Legacy Scholarship, the Legion works to ensure children of U.S. service
members who died on or after Sept. 11, 2001, receive equal opportunities in their pursuit of higher
learning. The Legacy Scholarship Fund awarded nearly $72,000 in scholarships to children of U.S.
military personnel who died on active duty. Donations are welcome and greatly needed, as college costs

ANS Incoming Freshman Scholarship
ANS Incoming Freshman Scholarships are awarded to graduating high-school seniors who have enrolled,
full-time, in college courses and are pursuing a degree in nuclear engineering or have the intent to pursue
a degree in nuclear engineering. ANS will give a maximum of four Incoming Freshman Scholarships
annually. Each award is $1000.
The Scholarships are awarded based on an applicant’s high school academic achievement, freshman
college courses enrolled in, quality and content of 500-word essay, letters of recommendation by
counselors and/or teachers, and other information.

ARRL Foundation the National Association for Amateur Radio
The ARRL Foundation administers scholarships for post-secondary education students holding a valid
FCC-granted Amateur Radio license. Scholarship awards range from $500 to $5000 or more.
Scholarships are funded by generous individuals and Amateur Radio organizations to encourage radio
amateurs to pursue their educational goals. All ARRL Foundation-administered scholarships are intended
exclusively for educational use, to provide assistance with costs of tuition, room, board, books and/or

Automotive Hall of Fame Scholarship
The Automotive Hall of Fame serves as administrator to over $20,000 in combined college
scholarships annually. The applicant must indicate a sincere interest in an automotive
related career.
The program has specific scholarships for incoming freshmen and upper-level
undergraduate students. All of the scholarships are based on financial needs and with the
usual minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.
To be eligible for a scholarship you must:
•Submit a completed application form indicating a sincere interest in an automotive career.
•Provide an official transcript of all academic work.
•Submit two letters of recommendation supporting your automotive interests.
•Submit a letter of acceptance for an associate, bachelor, or master’s program.
•Be accepted at an accredited college, university or trade school within the United States at
the time of application.
•Students attending a technical training school may also apply (trade school should equal a
two-year associate program).
•Student must be a United States citizen or in the United States on a Student Visa.

Big Sun Scholarship

Buick Achievers Scholarship
Be high school seniors, high school graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduate students. They must plan to
enroll in full-time undergraduate study at a U.S. based accredited four-year college or university for the entire 201516 academic year. Proprietary and online schools are not eligible. They must also plan to major in a course of study

Chair Scholars Foundation Scholarship
National Program
Available to students in every state in the continental U.S., the National Scholarship Program provides
eligible high school seniors and college undergrads up to $20,000 for tuition to attend the college or

Florida Program
The Florida Scholarship Program is available to 7th to 11th grade students attending public school in
all Florida counties. These awards provide tuition for college or vocational school with Florida Prepaid

Common Knowledge Scholarships
Developed and administered at Nova Southeastern University, the Common Knowledge Scholarship
Foundation (CKSF) awards scholarships to students through Internet-based quiz competitions. CKSF
reward students for demonstrating what they know. There is no essay writing or long applications to
complete. Students receive scholarship awards based on common knowledge and basic education
curricula. Students in grades 9 –12 (must live in Broward, Dade, of Monroe County) can go on line and

Edison Scholars Program

The Edison Scholars Program, sponsored by Edison International, is offering aspiring scientists,
mathematicians and engineers scholarships to pursue their education at a four-year colleges or
universities. Graduating high school seniors who show potential for success in college and have financial
need are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. Eligible students must live in or attend a public or
private high school in areas serviced by Southern California Edison (SCE) or attend an eligible high
school in the designated area surrounding SCE’s San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS).

Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund

Florida Engineering Society Scholarships
The Florida Engineering Society, an organization of approximately 3,800 engineers practicing throughout
the state of Florida, is pleased to offer a scholarship program for graduating seniors interested in pursuing
engineering careers. Six scholarships of $2,250 are being funded by the state organization, with
additional scholarships, in an amount to be determined, funded by our local Miami chapter.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
 Be a high school senior.
 Have been enrolled in one semester and will graduate form a FL school.
 Be a citizen of the United States at the time of application. G Have at least a 3.5 grade point
average based on a 4.0 scale.
 Attain a minimum test score on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), or the American College
Testing Program (ACT). The minimum scores, listed on page two are used as a minimum
threshold level, with actual test scores being weighted into the scoring process.
 Enroll in an engineering program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the
Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
 Certified transcript must be included with the application.
 Official lB & AP test score sheet must be included with the application

Ford Salute to Education
Must be a Senior; weighted GPA of 3.0 or above; participation in at least one school organization/activity
or one area of community service; legal resident in the US and Miami-Dade County. Leadership,
achievement, character, financial need, and the individual’s use of these traits in service to his or her
school and the community are also given consideration. May apply in ONE of the following 4 categories:
Athletics, Arts (Foreign Language, Language Arts, Performing Arts and Visual Arts) Leadership/Service,
and Science. 100 recipients receive $1,500 and is to be used ONLY FOR TUITION AND OTHER
EDUCATIONAL RELATED FEES. (There will be 11 recipients per category, each receiving a

You may edit your application until the deadline of January 27, 2014. You must print a copy of the
application for your records. You also must print and fill out the Application Verification Form and obtain
the necessary signature from the CAP Advisor.

Friends of 440 Scholarship
The purpose of Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund is to aid dependents of workers who are injured in the
course and scope of their employment and receive benefits under the Florida Workers' Compensation
Law and who reside or whose accident occurred in the State of Florida. Applicants must not be related
directly or indirectly to any member of the Board of Directors. Furthermore, dependents of individuals who
primarily engage in the operation and/or administration of the Florida Workers' Compensation Law are
eligible to receive the scholarship on a statewide basis. This scholarship is intended to aid students who
lack the economic ability to continue
education beyond high school or to further their college education. Applications must be submitted no
later than February 28th of the year the scholarship is to be awarded.
Seniors must have a parent/guardian who has been injured at work and is receiving benefits under the
Florida Worker's Compensation Law; minimum 2.7 weighted GPA; copy of parents 2014 tax return;

The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program, sponsored by The Ronald Reagan Foundation and
GE, is offering $10,000 scholarships to high school seniors in the United States. The GE-Reagan
Foundation Scholarship Program is open to students who demonstrate the attributes of leadership, drive,
integrity, and citizenship similar to those exhibited by President Ronald Reagan. Like President Reagan,
candidates use the formative experiences of their youth to lead, serve, and pursue a life of purpose and
significance, both individually and for their communities. Renewable scholarships are offered for full-time

Gloria and Joseph Mattera National Scholarship Fund for Migrant

Award: 100 awards of $150-$500
Eligibility: Migrant youth who have the potential and the desire to further their education to achieve their
personal and career goals. Recent history of movement for agricultural employment - priority will be
given to currently interstate migrant youth. Have scholastic potential, financial need, enrolled in or
accepted at an accredited public or private college, technical or vocational school, or a dropout or a
potential dropout from high school who shows promise of ability to continue schooling.
Notes: Applicants must submit a copy of the their current or most recent Migrant Education Program
Certificate of Eligibility (COE). Students may reapply annually but are limited to one award per 12
month period.

GO! Volunteer abroad scholarship
GO! Overseas is proud to support international volunteers through our GO! Volunteer Abroad Scholarship
program. Anyone participating in a volunteer program abroad is eligible to apply for the GO! Volunteer
Abroad Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded each year. The scholarship is awarded based on the
creativity and analytical thinking displayed through writing samples and/or video submissions.

Golden Drum Scholarship Application
The Golden Drum Scholars Award is a tuition-based scholarship available to incoming freshmen at
Florida International University. This award places a major emphasis on identifying and developing
emerging leaders. It pays $1250 toward tuition per semester and is renewable each year (fall and spring
terms only) for a total of four years with an academic performance of a 3.0 GPA or above and enrollment
in a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester.
To participate in the Golden Drum Scholars Award selection process, the student must be: a high
school senior with a weighted high school GPA of 3.5 or better; be a citizen or permanent resident of the
United States; be a Florida resident; have a proven track record of leadership; submit a resume and letter
of recommendation; write a statement of purpose that articulates his or her strengths as they pertain to
his or her career plans and leadership objectives and describe how the Golden Drum Scholars award will
help him or her achieve those goals; have submitted a completed admissions packet to FIU, along with

Application Components
The required components of the Jackie Robinson Foundation application are:
 A completed and submitted online application;
 One (1) letter of recommendation submitted online only
 SAT or ACT scores sent to the Foundation directly from the testing agencies. The Foundation’s

You will need to have a copy of your SAT or ACT scores and your latest high school transcript in order to

QuestBridge's College Prep Scholarship provides opportunities designed to help outstanding low-income
