Discussion:How is this program different from the MA? There is a need to better define these
two options. MAT – focus on teaching, MA to focus on research and teaching. Proposed to make
changes to EDUC 698 in the MAT. Discussion around how to make the MAT more applied.
ACTION: Continue to work on this based on the feedback from committee. To be presented at
the end of the year retreat. (Rich, Elsbree, Vargas)
Old Business
1. (Escalante) edTPA updates
CalTPA – Task 3 due on March 21
Task 4 workshop on March 26th
edTPA:
Elementary Education (18 rubrics) Passing Score = 49
Single Subjects (15 rubrics) Passing Score = 41
World Language (13 rubrics) Passing Score = 35
***Pearson HIGHLY SUGGESTS you submit your edTPA up to 3 days in advance. Because
they are a national system, they receive a high number of submissions. It can take several
days to receive your edTPA. (If your edTPA is not received on time it will be scored during
the next scoring window. There is no late fee.)
Elementary Education Due Date = April 28th. Suggested Submission Date = April 25, 2016
Single Subject Due Date = April 14th. Suggested Submission Date = April 11th, 2016
World Language Due Date = April 7th. Suggested Submission Date = April 4th, 2016
Scores Released
Elementary Education = May 19th, 2016
Single Subject = May 5th, 2016
World Language = May 5th, 2016
Two additional edTPA workshops: March 19th and April 9th. Individual
conferences/questions/support to be provided.
