Schroder, L. Stowell, B. Ward MEMBERS NOT PRESENT: P. Stall, J. Downie, M. Schroder STAFF PRESENT: K. Roberts I. Approval of Minutes After in depth discussion about section III (Guidelines). The group decided to retain the current wording. II. Discussion Points Lecturer Space o Lecturers serve as an integral part of the campus community, and should be provided an office space. o Discussion ensued about how to make an equitable distribution since every department and every college has vastly different needs. o Potential to work from home didn’t seem to be a viable option. o The group will try to determine the best allocation based on percentages of WTU’s and then let the colleges decide the best use of that allocation. o There should be some offices set aside for the “margin” in order to make this functional Student Space (All) o After a very in depth conversation regarding all spaces available to students, the group decided unanimously that they have no inclination to take any of that space for faculty offices at the current time. Realizing this could change as we grow. III. Action Items Each Associate Dean will compute their own data and send it to Kamel. K. Haddad will put together an idea of what the allocations should look like and share with the group at an upcoming meeting. P. Runzel will forward the same information from Faculty Affairs as a cross check. V. Adjournment Rev031615KH/kr Next meeting 3/18/2015 2-3:30 KEL 2413 Guidelines (retaining for reference to be added to as the meetings continue) All Guidelines will be forwarded to the Provost as recommendations. PSAG agreed on the following guidelines that will be used by the group. Rev031615KH/kr Ferpers, whether ½ time or 1 and 0 are not entitled to individual office space. Every FERP faculty will be expected to share office space, generally at a rate of 2:1. For faculty with Emeritus status, each College could designate one space to be shared by all emeriti in the College. A faculty member appointed to an alternate position lasting a year or longer will only hold one office. Other offices will be made available to lecturers during the term of the alternate appointment. An exception can be made for offices connected to lab space. Guidelines will be shared with the Senate once approved by the Provost..
