Minutes for the Executive Senate Meeting on 03/07/14
The previous minutes were approved for 02/21/14.
Old Business:




Voting on Revised T & P Guidelines will progress. After the vote, the Union
will be contacted. The Union is apparently open to hearing from the faculty on this issue.
Jean will contact Division Chairs to solicit names to fill next year’s Executive
Senate Committee vacancies. Tracy Weigner, Rebecca Ostertag and Faith Mishina
will be leaving; they have served the required three years. Jean will contact Kay Daub
to recruit nurses for positions on the Executive Senate and the APC.
Jean brought up the need to hold an election for the Executive Senate Chair for next year.
Those on the committee did not volunteer for the position and appeared to be satisfied
with the suggestion that Jean continue. An official vote will be held later.
There is confusion about the two versions of the Senate Charter—the version redone by
Jan Ray and Faith Mishina (at the behest of the previous chair) which was approved by
an Executive Senate vote—and a version with editing requested by Jene Michaud for the
APC. These will be sent to Jene to combine the new version. Yoshiko will take it to her.
New Business:

The Executive Senate held a closed session to critique the Dean’s Evaluation Instrument.
