In order to achieve this goal, the designated collections must be digitized and metadata entered to facilitate access to these rare and unique materials, most of which have never been seen by the general public. An estimated 15,000 digital images will be created, including 19th century images from the park’s Photograph Collection, documents from the 7th Cavalry War Records Collection, and newspaper clippings from the Elizabeth Bacon Custer Collection. The updated Register of the Little Bighorn Battlefield Photograph Collection will facilitate the use of these images by researchers. Museum collections
