2007 has been another great year for the Doyle family. Lots happened and there’s a lot to catch you up on. I won’t waste time with a long introduction, I’ll just say I hope you all had as good a year as we all did and wish you all a Happy Holiday Our Year in Review December 2006 Christmas was good to us again this year. Grandma and Grandpa were the first to open their gifts and as we all expected, they were pleased by everything they got. (pic 1). The kids got everything they could ask for, and of course were happy as could be. (pic 3). As usual, I had a little too much to drink and fell into the gifts and came out with a head full of ribbons. (pic 2) January 2007 Ellen and Lisa took a long and dangerous trip to the heart of darkest Africa, the Serengeti Plains. Unfortunately they dressed for the weather here at home and ended up sweating out of the trip and really didn’t see many animals. (pic 4) February The school play was a big hit. Little Jamie had a big roll and was really, by far, the best of the actors. The play ran for 3 nights and Jamie got the biggest hand all three nights. (pic 5) March Tina’s birthday party was a blast! Tina turned 10 and we had a cake and kids and boy was the house a mess when they went home. We’ll never do that again. Chucky Cheese may be expensive but my motto is, “let the Mouse clean up.” (pic 6) April Aunt Mary got married! Again! We all have great hopes for this one. Her new husband seems to have enough patience to put up with her and she’s been on her best behavior ever since the wedding. She hasn’t been arrested and they’ve barely had the police over to the house at all. We all have great hopes for this marriage. (pic 7) May Even though she’s young, after Aunt Mary's wedding, Cousin Bob decided it was time for his daughter Julie to get married. He said, “Who knows, we may not get another chance and I think the time is about right.” No one agreed with him of course so we all talked him out of it in the nick of time. They had the dress picked out and all, so I thought it was worth a picture, even though the wedding never came off. (pic 8) June Uncle Tony, (in the middle) became the oldest high school graduate ever from the Porkpie Central School District. We were all proud of his persistence and patience in getting through the demanding curriculum. 10th grade in particular gave him a lot of trouble, but a decade of trying finally got him through. He was joined in the graduation ceremony by his two sons, Huey and Dewey, the second and third oldest graduates in school history. (pic 9) July Summer vacation is always a thrill. We intended to go to the beach this year, but the truck broke down on the way there so we ended up in Mudhole Flats, Vermont. We had a great time, and despite the lack of water the kids all spent a lot of time pretending to go swimming in the mud. (pic 10) August Teresa almost got a job as a waitress. She got selected to go through a special training program, but unfortunately she didn’t quite make it through. She learned a lot of skills in the process however. One of her favorite was tray carrying and I was lucky enough to watch and photograph her and her class practicing tray carrying techniques. (pic 11) October Halloween is always a big holiday around our house. The kids all got dressed up and went out for candy, but unfortunately they got lost and ended up in the warehouse district and came away with very little candy. A nice wino did share an apple with them, however. They had a great time anyway. Here they are upon returning home with empty candy sacks. (pic 12) November Thanksgiving came and went and with it our final family get together for this annual report. Tiny Tim proved to us all that dessert is the best part of the meal, and that manners are certainly genetic. (pic 13)
