IIST 659 Final Project Date Due: TDB Project Description: Prepare a minimum of a 3 page holiday web site. The initial page must contain a Flash created holiday card. The card must be approximately 40-50 seconds long, containing at least four animations created with a motion or shape ‘tween, and at least one of the animations should make use of a motion path. The Flash file should also have a background sound track, and use graphics both created in Flash and imported from Photoshop. The card must contain text that was created in Flash. The card should not loop continuously, but come to a stop at the end of the presentation. The Flash card must reside on a web page on which it is integrated visually with the rest of the page including background color and other colors used on the page, navigation to the other pages on the site, text if desired, any other pictures you wish to use, roll-over images, etc. I will provide a 30 second music background for you to use if you do not have one you prefer to use. Size on the page is up to you but remember usability in determining your size. People should not have to scroll to see the whole card unless there is a good reason to make the scroll. The theme of the card and your approach to it is yours to determine. The card is a vehicle to demonstrate what you have learned and mastered in Flash. All the elements mentioned above must be contained in the Flash page. You are required to include your working .FLA file and all other work files along with your web site files. The second page of the site will be text and image based. It can be comprised of the text I provide or it can be text you write. It can use the images provided by me to go with the text or it can make use of your own images. The page is to be a summary of your year, much like the cards many people write and send that recap their family’s year. The page must make use of both text and photos. The photos provided will require some manipulation to optimize them for the web. If you choose to provide your own photos, they must demonstrate similar ability. All work Photoshop and photo work files must be handed in with the assignment. The navigation should be visually integrated into the page. The page must also include navigation to move within the rest of the web site. The final page is a little more free-form. It is to be comprised of a poem, verse, song lyrics, text passage, or other text-based content that is related to the holiday theme. This text passage must be illustrated in the following way. The title should be an image that contains the title as text, and some other form of illustration, either one you create from scratch or one you have found elsewhere and incorporated into a graphic for the title image. The page must contain at least 4 other images. At least two of the images must be created from scratch by you in Photoshop. They can contain photos, but must demonstrate some other use of Photoshop beyond the simple use of photography, i.e. the use of filters, layer effects, etc. They do not need to contain photos. The other two images can be ones you have found elsewhere or created from scratch. You must include all of your Photoshop work files when handing in your project. This page must also contain navigation to move within the site as a whole. Overall, the site should work visually as a whole. You should know that you are in the same site when you move from page to page. The text, both headlines and body text, should be styled for readability and to supplement the themes of the site. Background color, text and link color, and other color elements must work together to form a coherent whole. You should demonstrate the ability to do some kind of interactive roll-over type image at lest once on the site. You should be able to move easily within the site with the navigation. All images MUST have alt tags. You MUST hand in all files used to create the site including .PSD (Photoshop work) files, .FLA (Flash work) files, and any other working files that you used to create your final project. You must test your site with at least 3 subjects. You must write a short description of the results of your testing and indicate any and all changes you made as a result of that testing. If you do not make changes, you must justify why you felt no changes were needed. Grading criteria will be as follows: A = 3.7 to 4.0 A- = 3.4 to 3.6 B+ = 3.1 to 3.3 B = 2.7 to 3.00 B- = 2.4 to 2.6 C+ = 2.1 to 2.3 C = 2.0 to 2.2 C- = 1.7 to 2.0 D = 1.0 to 1.7 Meeting the minimum requirements will earn you a B, i.e. 3.0.
