Minutes of the College Council Meeting of May 20, 2002
Dr. Caldwell, Dr. Fallo, Mr. Hanson, Dr. Hata, Mr. Marston, Ms. Pickens, Dr. Simon,
Ms. Smith, and Ms. Stewart.
Section 508-Ms. Lucinda Aborn
The College Council will refer Section 508 to the Planning and Budgeting Committee for
development of policy and procedures. The Chancellor’s Office has provided a
suggested format. Dr. Caldwell will follow-up.
Summer Schedule
College Council will meet on the following dates:
Monday, June 3, 2002
1:00 p.m.
Monday, June 24, 2002
1:00 p.m.
Monday, July 15, 2002
1:00 p.m.
Monday, July 29, 2002
1:00 p.m.
Monday, August 19, 2002 1:00 p.m.
The regular schedule will begin Monday, September 9, 2002 at 1:00 p.m.
Facilities Needs
Ms. Smith inquired if ECCE and ECCFT could show their support of the bond by
backing the Academic Senate’s motion. It was reported that this could be done either in
writing or in person at the Board Meeting in July.
Planning & Budgeting Committee-Membership
Two members have been identified: Lance Widman, Academic Senate representative
and Bo Morton, Student and Community Advancement representative. Additional
members will be discussed at the next meeting.
Procedure 801
Mr. Marston reported no objections in final review by the Senate representatives;
therefore, this procedure will be publicized in the fall and presented to the Board for
information only.
Policy 4020 – Program and Curriculum Development
Dr. Simon reported that the ECCFT would like to keep the policy as proposed by the
Curriculum Committee. Ken Keys reported that the Curriculum Committee would like to
keep it the way they proposed. There will be further discussion at the next meeting.
