Notes from March 10, 2010 Meeting

 Notes from the last meeting were accepted.
CLASSIFIED WEEK (May 17-21, 2010)
Lunch Hour Entertainment
 The group discussed including entertainment, provided by ECC staff during the lunch BBQ,
as part of the Friday activities. The ECC/CEC Grand Performances: Three Minutes of Fame
will feature performances by individuals/groups from the ECC/CEC Campus communities.
Donna will develop a participant sheet that will be sent to the campus list serves to invite
entries. A sub-group will be formed to develop what introduction should be used and the
kind of information to be collected from prospective participants.
Team Building Event – Mission Possible
 Donna suggested that this activity include a debriefing of the winning teams. The debriefing
would identify what skills were used by the successful teams.
Information about joining a team will be sent to the campus list serve. Participants will be
given more information about their “top secret” team building mission on the day of the event.
Hobby Showcase
 This activity will take place in the Student Activities Center on Thursday, May 20, 2010
(11:00 AM – 1:00PM). A participant form will be sent to campus list serves to ask for
participants.
A six-foot rectangular table will be provided to each participant to display the craft. Also
committee members will be scheduled in shifts so that there is always a member present
during the display.
A new workshop
 Luukia attended a Sexual Harassment Workshop which she thought would be good to
present during classified week. Luukia or Allene will contact the presenter. The group will
revisit the workshop schedule to include this new offering. Meanwhile, copies of the
handouts will be sent to committee members for their review.
Workplace Violence
 It was felt that the title “Handling Violence in the Workplace” should be modified. One of the
suggested titles was “Personal Safety Tips”.
Effective Communication
 Donna will contact Connie Fitzsimons, Dean of Fine Arts to determine which faculty
members specialize in Communication so that she can get in touch with a presenter.

Tentative Workshop Schedule to be revised:
Two workshops 45 minutes in length will be offered each day Monday thru Thursday. One
workshop will be scheduled in the morning (10:00am – 11:00am) and the other in the afternoon
(2:00pm – 3:00pm) except for Thursday when Creative Hobbies Showcase will start at 11:00am
and end at 1:00pm.
