Grant Proposal Application Procedures
1. Email the Director of Grants, Sponsored Research, and Strategic Initiatives to discuss
plans and deadline.
2. Prepare a short summary and draft budget - including any university commitment.
3. Speak with your department chair and/or dean about your project.
4. Complete an External Grant Proposal Application form.
5. Sign the External Grant Proposal Application Signature Page as “Principal Investigator.”
6. Obtain the signatures of your department chair or dean and the Associate Vice President
for Budgets.
7. Submit the External Grant Proposal Application with Box A completed - along with the
summary and budget - to the Office of Grants, Sponsored Research, and Strategic
Initiatives.
The form should be submitted at least three weeks prior to any proposal deadline.
The Grants office will obtain the signatures of the remaining officers - Box B.
