Primary Instructional Strategies: Class discussion, lecture and recitation with the

COURSE OBJECTIVE:
This course is designed to provide the essentials of human anatomy and physiology as
they apply to cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive and
endocrine systems. Students will also be introduced to fluid, electrolytes, development,
and inheritance.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
1.
No absences. Each student is expected to be in class as attendance will
be taken.
2.
Participation in lab activities is expected and required.
3.
Each student is responsible for the material covered in lecture, in the
textbook, in the lab manual, and in the study guide.
4.
Students are expected to participate in all scheduled examinations. Final
lecture exam and two lab exams are mandatory and cannot be dropped.
5.
No cheating. A student found to be engaged in any scholastic dishonesty
on an exam will receive a zero grade for that exam and may face further
disciplinary action
6.
No extra credit options. Grades will be based entirely on lecture, lab
exams, and lab reports.
7.
Students should observe all safety rules in the laboratory, particularly
during the laboratory exercises. Students work in groups during laboratory
sessions, but individual contribution is required in the completion of
laboratory reports.
8.
Americans with Disability Act (ADA) statement: please feel free to notify
your instructor in writing if you have a medical condition or personal
circumstances that may limit your ability to fully perform all the work in this
class.
9.
All pagers and cellular phones must be turned-off during class sessions.
EVALUATION:
Four lecture exams and one comprehensive final will be conducted during the
term to evaluate lecture materials and two laboratory practicals will be conducted
during the term to evaluate lab materials and activities. The format of the lecture
exams will be multiple choice, true or false, fill-in-the-blank and matching
questions. The format of laboratory exams will be fill-in-the-blank questions.
