TOWN PUMPS: How our Grandfathers got their supply of drinking water, and then answer the following
questions:
1. How was New York first supplied with water?
2. What year were water pumps introduced in the city? How were they funded?
3. What was the “Tea-Water Pump”? How did it get its name?
4. How would people get water from the pump to their homes?

1. Where did Washington take his army at the end of 1776?
2. How did Washington receive information that the British did not plan to follow his army?
3. What piece of information did John Honeyman take back to the British?
4. List one of the reasons Washington decided to take Trenton.
5. What date did the battle take place?
6. Describe the outcome of the battle?
