Classes offered: March – fifty-two (52) hours of classes were planned and forty-eight (48) hours
were completed of which sixteen (16) were F-Rate Pre-Service certification hours and thirty-two (32)
were renewal hours.
The collaboration continues with the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome organization (FASD Network of
Southern California) to offer the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Conference on May 21, 2015. The
conference will take place at Torrance Memorial Hospital. Foster & Kinship Education will provide
training hours and certificates for the caregivers and providers who attend.
On March 27, 2015, a Curriculum Advisory Committee was conducted. The focus of the meeting
was to identify specific areas of need to that are consistent with the expectations provided by the
Chancellor’s Office. The meeting was successful and the next step is to organize the information into
a schedule of classes.
PS-MAPP
 Continuing to work with Institutional Research to redesign the evaluation forms.
Student Advocacy and Support
 During the month of March, Foster & Kinship Education served 6 students for a total. 2 had multiple
visits for a total of 8.5 hours.
 We continue to provide assistance to both existing and new students. Primary needs are financial aid
and residency issues.
 We continue to work with the John Burton Foundation around Priority Registration. The purpose of
this project is to develop strategies to better inform and support foster youth access priority
registration.
Adult Education Liaising

Outreach and School Relations
There are 7,013 students currently in our Prospective Student Database. Contact Robin Dreizler if
your program wishes to use this database for program recruitment.
Outreach will have assessed more than 1,300 students at local high schools this spring in its attempt
to help get as many students through the Core Services.
The numbers are just now coming in but the Outreach counselors will have completed close to 1,000
educational plans with local graduates.
Discussions are taking place to better join and integrate the Outreach and the Enrollment
Management Plans heading into the 2015-16 academic year.
First Ambassador Program Information session was held on April 9, 2015 with a great turn out. The
next one is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21 at 1pm in SSVC 207. This year we are teaming up with
the STEM program to recruit STEM Ambassadors. Deadline to apply is May 1, 2015. Applications
are available at the Information Desk and SSVC 206.
OASR is offering a “MyECC 101 – Navigating the Registration Process” presentation. We have
confirmations from nine schools with two others still pending. The goal is to visit as many schools as
we can and inform students.

Student Development/ASO/ICC/AGS
Weekly commencement meetings are underway in preparation for May 15, 2015.
ASO Elections took place April 6 - April 8, 2015 on the Library Lawn. Results will be posted April
10, 2015.
On Tuesday, April 14, 2015, the YWCA will be on campus with their Clothesline project. The
Clothesline Project (CLP) is a program started to address the issue of violence against women. It is a
vehicle for women affected by violence to express their emotions by decorating a shirt. They then
hang the shirt on a clothesline to be viewed by others as testimony to the problem of violence against
women. With the support of many, it has since spread worldwide.
On Friday, April 17, 2015, ICC will be hosting Warrior Games, a friendly competition between clubs
on campus. This event will be held from 11am-2pm on the Library Lawn.
ASO and ICC will be holding a joint Banquet on Friday, April 24, 2015, at 6pm in the East Dining
Room.
ASO is preparing to attend their last conference of the year. Spring General Assembly will be held in
Ontario May 1, 2015 - May 3, 2015.
