Highlights:








Went from 37% at the end of Spring 2009 to 95% at the end of Spring 2010 of courses having SLOs;
went from 9% at the end of Spring 2009 to 23% at the end of Spring 2010 of courses having been
assessed.
Core competency maps completed for all courses and all programs reflecting better alignment of all
levels of SLOs
Data collection for first core competency assessment took place in Spring 2010
Better tracking of number of SLOs in existence as well as number of SLOs assessed (inventories)
Updated list of deadlines created
Program reviews reflect closer linkage of this process and the SLO process
In Spring 2010, the appointment of 6 facilitators and more reassigned time for coordinator made
this progress possible.
CurricUNET SLO module planned out; data entry of already-existing SLOs to take place in the
summer

The Summit:
1. Faculty and staff who have performed assessment in the core competency area being
assessed will be asked to give a short presentation on their findings and conclusions. At the
end of these presentations, a facilitator will ask summit participants to think about
commonalities and differences in the presented assessment studies.
2. The Assessment of Learning Committee will present the data from the core competency
assessment.
3. Summit participants will be broken into groups based on their general area of the campus
(e.g. Basic Skills, GE, CTE, etc.). The groups will be asked to reflect on the data and its
implications for their particular area.
4. The groups will report out their findings and conclusions.
