Meeting notes from August 31, 2000 meeting were reviewed and no changes were made.

Linda Leon and Susan Zareski gave a brief presentation requesting the Benefits
Insurance Committee to consider improving the retirement health benefit package.
The District will review the costs associated with this request. More discussion on this
issue will be held at later meetings.

Rachel Lickley reviewed the experience reports for the Delta Dental and Vision Service
Plan (VSP). Both plans are running on target.

The addition of Domestic Partner coverage was discussed and agreed that more
information will be gathered with a possible implementation date of January 1, 2002.
Keenan & Associates will report back to the Committee on other districts in Los
Angeles County that are offering Domestic Partner coverage, the claims and premium
impact on their medical, dental and vision programs.

Legislative Updates consisted of; CalPERS $96 million dollar loss expected this year;
Closure of the KPC Medical Management Group; and SB1435 that will establish
CalSTRS to pay the Medicare Part A premiums for those members who are not eligible
for premium free Part A.

