Title: Mean, Median & Mode Game Purpose: This interactive activity focuses on the important math concepts of mean, median and mode. Grade Level/TEKS Reference: 6th and up 6.B (10) Probability and statistics. The student uses statistical representations to analyze data. The student is expected to: (B) identify mean (using concrete objects and pictorial models), median, mode, and range of a set of data; (D) solve problems by collecting, organizing, displaying, and interpreting data. Procedure: 1) Review the concepts of finding the mean, median and mode of a collection of numbers before playing the game. 2) Allow students to use paper and pencil or calculators to calculate the means. 3) Start playing the game. 4) Follow the instructions at the top of the image of the game. 5) Answer questions related median, mode and mean. 6) After completing the first set of activities, students can choose another set according to their preference and continue to practice the math concepts.
