Our department was the first college recreation program in California and is one of the oldest in the USA, yet is cognizant of the latest trends and innovations. The RPT program is nationally accredited and we work closely with a wide variety of recreation, parks and tourism organizations for student internships and job placement. RPT offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and a certificate program. There are four primary emphasis areas: Events, Tourism, and Commercial Recreation Health, Wellness, and Community Recreation Youth Services and Nonprofit Recreation Parks, Natural Resources, and Outdoor Recreation Together, our programs, faculty, and the San Francisco Bay Area community provide an international "living laboratory."
