DISCUSSION TOPICS

Bond

A handout for the bond equipment list was distributed. Faculty need to go over the list to make any changes or updates and return it to Lois by September 9 th

.

VTEA

El Camino received $600,000 this year. There are 27 technical programs that qualify.

The funds were used to attend conferences for professional development. Faculty are now being asked to give a quarterly report. VTEA is a grant and there is accountability involved. Departments that qualify for funding should be addressing how the program will be improved. People from outside of El Camino reviewed proposals for funding. If departments didn’t get funded they received comments.

Stephanie said the VTEA surveys will go out by the 3 rd

week of the semester.

VTEA is looking at program development. Some departments want to hire female assistants.

BUDGET

The budget situation is very serious. All of our budget areas will be closely reviewed and likely reduced, especially the hourly, casual employee, supplies, part-time faculty and faculty overload.

The meeting ended at 3:08pm.
