ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT

POSITION: Full-time tenure-track position in Strategic Management. The position requires the
effective teaching of the graduate and undergraduate Strategy capstone seminars. A successful record of
applied research in the strategic management area is also expected.
RANK AND SALARY: Assistant Professor; salary competitive and dependent on qualifications.
APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: October 17, 2005, or until filled.
APPOINTMENT DATE: Fall Semester 2006
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Ph.D. in business with a specialization in Strategic Management from an AACSB accredited
school or equivalent (degree must be completed prior to August 1, 2006).
 A clearly demonstrated record of effective teaching, as well as significant research promise in
the Strategic Management area.
 Additional competencies (business/management experience, on-line course delivery,
consulting, etc.) are plus factors.
 Awareness of, and sensitivity to, the educational goals of a multicultural and socially diverse
urban university population.
THE COLLEGE: The College of Business is accredited by the AACSB at both the graduate and
undergraduate levels. The college offers MBA, AMBA, MSBA and BS degrees and serves
approximately 1,000 graduate and 5,000 undergraduate students. Courses are offered both day and
evening. There are approximately 110 full-time tenure-track faculty members.
THE UNIVERSITY: San Francisco State University, a member of the California State University
